The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has intensified its visibility across the municipality through proactive observational patrols aimed at ensuring a peaceful and secure Independence Day celebration.
The operation covered key locations within the city, with officers making strategic stops at major junctions and engaging with community members. Residents expressed appreciation for the increased police presence, noting that it enhanced their sense of safety during the national festivities.
Regional Police Commanders for Freetown West and Freetown East, who led the exercise, reaffirmed the SLP’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, as well as responding promptly to the needs of the public.
The initiative underscores the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu, whose emphasis on proactive policing and community engagement continues to boost public confidence and deter criminal activities nationwide.
