The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely passing of Abrahamson Kaccu Kamara, a young and promising footballer of Old Edwardians FC.
In a statement, the SLFA described the late Kamara as a committed and talented player who proudly represented Sierra Leone at the U-17 level during the WAFU A CAF U-17 AFCON Qualifiers held in Mali in 2025. He featured in all matches of the tournament, demonstrating remarkable dedication, discipline, and passion for the game.
Kamara was also a consistent performer for Old Edwardians FC, where he remained active until he was struck by illness. His performances at both club and national levels marked him out as one of the country’s brightest young prospects, with immense potential for the future.
The SLFA noted that his passing is a significant loss not only to his club but also to the national football structure and the wider football community in Sierra Leone.
“On behalf of the President, Executive Committee, and the entire football community, the SLFA extends its deepest condolences to his family, teammates, Old Edwardians FC, and all those mourning this tragic loss,” the statement read.
The association concluded by praying for the repose of his soul.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
