R&B singer, Incredible JJ has opened up about his journey to success, crediting faith, persistence, and a life-changing encounter with renowned producer Nashito Kulala.
Speaking during a recent media engagement, Incredible JJ said his current success is “by the grace of God,” especially his collaboration with Nashito Kulala, which he described as a major turning point in his career.
He revealed that even though some of the content featured in a YouTube video with Nashito Kulala was scripted, while other parts captured real moments from their journey. According to him, he initially started his career as a rapper and, alongside his team, always dreamed of working with Nashito.
“We used to imagine the day we would meet Nashito,” he said. “As a team of 12, we even joked about raising three million just to approach him and convince him to work with us because we believed that one song with him would change everything.”
That dream eventually became reality-but not in the way they expected.
Incredible JJ recounted that shortly after gaining recognition, he called Nashito Kulala one night. At first, the producer did not realise who he was, but after introducing himself, Nashito warmly congratulated him and expressed admiration for his work.
“I told him he’s my dream producer and that I’ve always wanted to work with him,” JJ said. “He responded positively and told me I could come see him anytime.”
Determined to seize the opportunity, Incredible JJ travelled to Freetown the very next day. After contacting Nashito, he was asked to meet at the studio at 8 a.m., but JJ arrived an hour early.
“I was there by 7 a.m.,” he recalled. “It was a vision for me, from writing the song to finally being in the studio with him.”
The meeting marked the beginning of a collaboration that significantly boosted his career, turning years of hope and hard work into reality.
