Parliament has announced the election of Hon. Rosemarie Bangura as Vice Chairperson of the West African Regional Caucus.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, 28th May 2026, at the Well of Parliament.
Hon. Bangura, a member of the main opposition All People’s Congress, represents Tonkolili District in the North East region. She has gained recognition beyond her constituency for her work in health, education, agriculture, and girl child education.
Her impact has been felt most strongly in Kafe, Simiria, and parts of the Dasogoia Chiefdom, where she has supported and inspired her people through several community-driven development projects.
The West African Regional Caucus plays a crucial role in promoting legislative cooperation and regional integration among member states in the subregion. Hon.
Hon. Bangura’s new position is expected to give Sierra Leone, and Tonkolili District in particular a stronger voice in shaping regional policy.
