The Government of Sierra Leone, represented by the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Turad Senesie, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shelta Arique Development Bank and TAF Global Africa on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
The agreement, signed during the Annual General Meeting in Rabat, Morocco, covers the construction of affordable housing units and university student hostels across Sierra Leone.
According to the Ministry of Lands, the partnership reflects ongoing housing sector reforms aimed at addressing the country’s accommodation challenges, particularly for university students, through strengthened support from development partners.
Minister Turad Senesie said: “At the core of the governance agenda is shelter for Sierra Leoneans, and government is responding.”
The collaboration is being described as a major boost to Sierra Leone’s housing sector, signaling a shift toward stronger public-private partnerships (PPPs) to support urban development and improve access to affordable accommodation for students and families.
