The opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has been plunged into deep mourning following reports of the death of its National Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, a veteran politician and one of the party’s most influential figures.

According to information circulating within party and political circles on Monday 15 June 2026, Mansaray is reported to have passed away, although official confirmation from the APC and his family is yet to be issued. Details surrounding the circumstances of his death remain unclear at this stage.

Mansaray, a long-serving political heavyweight, has been a central figure in the APC’s leadership structure for years, having previously served as Minister of Labour and later as Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources before rising to become National Chairman of the party.  

His political career spanned decades, beginning from his time in Parliament in the early 2000s and later extending into senior cabinet positions under the former APC government, where he built a reputation as a key strategist and party mobilizer.
