Minister of Internal Affairs, AIG (Rtd.) Morie Lengor Esq., on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, met with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, H.E. Saudi Al-Musaed, at the Embassy premises on Scan Drive, Wilberforce.

The discussions centred on strengthening bilateral security relations, counter-terrorism efforts, regional stability, and expanded cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Lengor presented the Ministry’s Strategic Plan, outlining operations across its affiliated agencies and departments, and sought the Ambassador’s support for its successful implementation.

The meeting also highlighted long-standing bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to joint efforts in combating drug smuggling and transnational trafficking networks.

Ambassador Al-Musaed assured the Minister of his continued support, pledging that the requests raised would receive due attention in support of Sierra Leone’s stability and security agenda.

Both parties exchanged courtesies and reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional peace and stability, including enhanced cooperation on defence and counter-terrorism strategies aimed at safeguarding citizens across West Africa.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing commitment to strengthening security cooperation, including the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise and deepen institutional collaboration.
