The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized a large quantity of suspected narcotic substances from the possession of Sheriff Koroma in Koidu City, Kono District.
Police described the arrest as one of the most significant anti-drug operations conducted within the Tankoro Police Division.
The intelligence-led operation was carried out under the supervision of the Local Unit Commander of Tankoro Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Dr Sahr Nyuma. It led to the arrest of Sheriff Koroma, popularly known as “Mystic”, at his hideout in Tankoro Camp, Koidu City.

During the raid, officers reportedly recovered approximately 95 kilograms of suspected Cannabis Sativa, commonly known as “jamba”, along with a quantity of dried leaves believed to be cannabis, as well as two packets and 370 tablets of suspected tramadol.
Police further stated that the operation has been welcomed by some residents of Tankoro and the wider Kono District, who expressed appreciation for ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing as police continue efforts to identify and apprehend other individuals believed to be connected to the illicit drug trade.
