Bullom Stars secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kamboi Eagles on Saturday, June 27, earning three vital points in a tense relegation battle in the Leone Rock Premier League.
The first half was a tightly contested affair, with both sides displaying strong defensive discipline while searching for an opening. Kamboi Eagles were drawn into a physical contest, with Abubaker Sidibay receiving the first yellow card of the match in the 40th minute.
The visitors’ disciplinary struggles continued shortly after the restart, as Osman Sesay was cautioned in the 47th minute. Bullom Stars were then presented with a golden opportunity to take the lead from the penalty spot, but Facinet M. Sylla saw his effort denied by a crucial save from the Kamboi Eagles goalkeeper, keeping the score level at 0-0.
However, the hosts maintained their pressure and were rewarded in the 51st minute. Momoh Bangura broke the deadlock with a composed finish after a well-worked move, assisted by Mohamed Kamara, to give Bullom Stars a deserved 1-0 lead.
