The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially announced the key dates for the 2026/27 domestic football calendar, setting the stage for the upcoming season.

The dates were approved by the SLFA Executive Committee during a recent meeting, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance planning, coordination, and the effective organisation of football competitions nationwide.

According to the approved calendar, the Men’s Division One Playoffs will kick off the season from 8th to 19th July 2026, followed by the Women’s Division One Playoffs scheduled for 12th to 18th July 2026.

The Club Licensing Period will run from 1st August to 1st September 2026, while the first phase of the Player Registration Window is set for 1st August to 21st October 2026.

In October, attention will shift to major curtain-raiser competitions, with the Women’s Unity Cup slated for 3rd October and the Men’s Unity Cup on 4th October 2026.

The Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League and the Men’s Premier League will both commence on 10th October 2026, marking the official start of top-flight football across the country.

Lower-tier competitions will follow shortly after, with the National Division One Leagues (male and female) beginning on 24th October 2026, and the National Division Two League kicking off on 25th October 2026.

The SLFA has called on all affiliated clubs and stakeholders to take note of the schedule and begin necessary preparations ahead of the new season.

The Association reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening domestic football through improved planning, effective governance, and the continued development of competitions at all levels.
