Waterloo FC, popularly known as the Fry-Fish Boys, have officially secured promotion to the Sierra Leone Premier League following a ruling by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Disciplinary Committee in the aftermath of the abandoned National Division One Playoff semifinal against Marampa Stars FC.

The crucial playoff encounter, which was abandoned on Thursday, was referred to the SLFA Disciplinary Committee for review after it failed to reach its conclusion.

Following its deliberations, the committee ruled in favour of Waterloo FC, confirming the club’s promotion to the country’s top-flight league.

The decision marks a historic achievement for the Waterloo-based side, whose impressive campaign has now been rewarded with a place in the 2026/27 Sierra Leone Premier League season.

The promotion is expected to be celebrated by the club’s supporters and the wider Waterloo football community, as the Fry-Fish Boys prepare to compete among Sierra Leone’s elite clubs for the first time.

Further details surrounding the Disciplinary Committee’s ruling are expected to be released by the SLFA.
