Sierra Leonean athlete MO Fastest Buakei has reached a defining moment in his sporting journey after earning his IFBB Pro Card in Australia, marking his arrival as a professional bodybuilder on the international stage.
The achievement follows an intense eight-week preparation programme that tested his physical strength, discipline, and mental determination. With his new professional status, Buakei can now compete against some of the world’s top bodybuilding athletes.
However, his journey to the IFBB Pro League was not built in one sport alone. Before entering professional bodybuilding, Buakei competed in athletics and volleyball, experiences that shaped his resilience, commitment, and competitive mindset.
Buakei credited his success to God, his coaches, family, friends, and supporters who stood with him throughout the challenging process. He gave special recognition to his coach, Allen Mao, for guiding him during the demanding preparation period, while also appreciating the support of former coach Charlie Suma and his younger brother, James Kamara.
According to Buakei, achieving professional status required more than training. It demanded sacrifice, patience, discipline, and confidence in his ability to succeed.
“This has made this year one of the most memorable years of my life,” Buakei said.
He added: “From Sierra Leone to Australia. From the athletics track to the volleyball court, and now to the IFBB Pro League stage. The journey continues, and the best is still to come.”
