NSA Holds High-Level Talks With UK Firm to Advance Sports Development

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has taken a significant step toward strengthening sports development in Sierra Leone following a high-level engagement with the Ultimate Sports Group (USG) in London.

The meeting, held at Silver Jubilee Park, forms part of NSA’s broader efforts to build strategic international partnerships, enhancing the country’s sporting capacity across multiple disciplines.

Leading the engagement, NSA Executive Director Mohamed Alphaka Conteh emphasised the Authority’s commitment to exploring opportunities that will improve coaching standards, athlete development, and overall sports management in Sierra Leone.

“This engagement has provided us with vital insights into coaching capabilities, player technical development, pre-season tours, educational programmes, and events management,” Conteh said. “As NSA Executive Director, I am committed to exploring every available opportunity that will contribute to the growth of sports in Sierra Leone. I want to leave a lasting legacy in sports.”

The session featured a detailed presentation by Uthman Odutayo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of USG, who highlighted the organisation’s work in providing elite-level support to national men’s and women’s football teams, as well as basketball and athletics programmes.

Odutayo noted that USG brings together top-tier sports professionals and offers a wide range of services, including technical support and athlete development initiatives. He also revealed scholarship opportunities in the United Kingdom and the United States for athletes, sports administrators, and technical personnel.

NSA Director of Corporate Operations, Alie Sesay, who facilitated the engagement, expressed appreciation to USG for hosting the delegation, noting that the partnership presents promising prospects for Sierra Leonean athletes and sports professionals.

The engagement marks a key milestone in NSA’s ongoing drive to position Sierra Leone’s sports sector on a competitive international footing through collaboration and knowledge exchange.
