Opposition All People’s Congress (APC) presidential aspirant Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, is set to make his first studio appearance on AYV’s new programme, State of the Nation, in an interview with veteran journalist Umaru Fofana.
The highly anticipated interview is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. and will provide Jagaban with an opportunity to outline his political ambitions, distinguish himself from other APC presidential aspirants and respond to questions surrounding his wealth, political influence and leadership aspirations.
Fofana is also expected to question Jagaban over allegations and perceptions that he could be attempting to use his financial resources to secure the presidency, as well as concerns about his religious identity and whether he is an Islamist.
The APC presidential aspirant will further be asked to present his vision for Sierra Leone and explain how he intends to address some of the major challenges confronting the country if given the opportunity to lead.
Another key focus of the interview will be Jagaban’s relationship with the APC’s former leader and former President Ernest Bai Koroma, including when the two last spoke.
The programme will also feature Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara, who will reflect on his first year in office and face questions about some of the major decisions taken under his leadership.
Among the issues expected to come under scrutiny is his decision to sack Leone Stars head coach Mohamed Kallon, as well as the role of the National Sports Authority (NSA) in the development and management of sports in Sierra Leone.
Kamara will also be questioned about whether he supported the FIFA President’s controversial proposal to privatise the World Cup.
