The Board and Management of the National Sports Authority (NSA) have congratulated Sierra Leone’s Under-19 male beach volleyball pair, Sulaiman Bangura and Alie Kainesie, after they won gold at the second CAVB Youth Development Cup finals against Ghana in Senegal on Thursday.

The NSA described the victory as a significant milestone for the young pair, who have been playing together since 2023 and have consistently finished on the podium at competitions across the sub-region.

The CAVB Youth Development Cup is an IOC- and FIVB-supported initiative aimed at providing African teams preparing for the Youth Olympic Games with high-level competitive experience ahead of Dakar 2026.

The NSA said the latest victory demonstrates the talent, dedication and hard work of Sierra Leone’s young athletes.

The Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Bangura and Kainesie as they continue their journey towards the Youth Olympic Games and beyond.

The NSA further congratulated the pair for their achievement and for making Sierra Leone proud on the international stage.
