After the successful release of “Running Out Of Time Salone,” Sierra Leonean artistes Drizilik and ApreeL collaborated on another public service announcement in a musical format titled “Verify Bifo Yu Share,” which encourages responsible social media use.
Deepfakes and AI-generated content are becoming harder to spot. Through music and awareness, the singers encourage Sierra Leoneans to think critically, protect themselves from misinformation, and make responsible choices online.
“Verify Bifo Yu Share” warns against the dangers of fake news, edited pictures, and AI-generated content, which can cause confusion and tear communities apart. Drizilik and ApreeL encourage people to think carefully before they comment, post, like, or share to protect their generation and prevent the fire of misinformation from spreading.
Produced by D4nny Beats, “Verify Bifo Yu Share” is part of the project sponsored by the Directorate of Science, Technology & Innovation (DSTI), Sierra Leone Digital Transformation Project (SLDTP) funded by the World Bank and implemented alongside the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation.
