The Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Liberia has hosted Commissioner Joseph Maada Lahai of the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) during his official engagements in Monrovia.
Commissioner Lahai was welcomed by Deputy Ambassador H.E. Lusine Kallon, the Defence Attaché and other senior officials at the Embassy.
The engagement focused on strengthening cooperation between Sierra Leone and Liberia, with particular emphasis on youth empowerment and development.
Discussions explored opportunities to enhance institutional collaboration and support initiatives aimed at creating greater opportunities for young people across the Mano River Union (MRU) sub-region.
The officials also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation and people-to-people relations in promoting sustainable development and empowering young people.
The visit forms part of Sierra Leone’s broader efforts to strengthen regional partnerships and advance cooperation with neighbouring countries on issues of mutual interest, particularly youth development.
The engagement further underscored the potential for closer collaboration between youth-focused institutions in Sierra Leone and Liberia to support initiatives that contribute to the development and empowerment of the next generation.
