Preparations for Sierra Leone’s campaign in the 2027 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers continue, with Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara visiting the Leone Stars’ home-based training camp.
The visit provided an opportunity for the SLFA president to demonstrate the association’s support for the national team as the players intensify their tactical and physical preparations ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
During the visit, Kamara held a briefing with Leone Stars Head Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa, who provided an update on the progress of the home-based squad, including player development, ongoing tactical drills and the technical team’s broader preparation plans.
Addressing the players and technical team, Kamara reaffirmed the SLFA’s commitment to supporting the national team’s qualification campaign. He assured the squad and technical staff of the association’s continued provision of the necessary resources and logistical support to aid their preparations.
The engagement comes as Sierra Leone works to assemble a competitive squad ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign. The home-based players are currently involved in the early stages of preparation, with the technical team expected to assess and develop the group before the integration of foreign-based players.
The Leone Stars will continue their training programme as preparations intensify, with the team aiming to secure qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
