APC Parliamentarian Hon. Alhaji Sorieba Turay, popularly known as “Tamemkor,” says he would have accepted the alleged $100,000 and SUV reportedly offered to lawmakers to influence their position on the Constitutional Amendment Bill.
Turay made the statement while speaking on Probe Media, where he addressed allegations that some APC lawmakers were offered financial and material incentives ahead of the parliamentary vote.
Although he said no one personally approached him with the alleged offer, Turay stated that he would have accepted the money and vehicle had they been presented to him.
“If I see 100 thousand dollar and SUV, I would just walk out and sit,” Turay said, indicating that he would have taken the opportunity rather than participate in the vote.
He further encouraged people to take advantage of opportunities when they arise, saying, “Opportunity, grab it.”
Turay’s comments come amid allegations that some APC lawmakers were offered $100,000 and an SUV in connection with the Constitutional Amendment Bill.
The lawmaker, however, denied receiving any such offer, saying he was not given any money or vehicle. He also did not identify anyone alleged to have made such offers to other lawmakers.
