The Inspector General of Police (IGP), William Fayia Sellu, has donated four brand-new motorbikes to the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Northeast Region to enhance operational mobility and policing activities across the region.
The donation, made at the Regional Headquarters in Mena Hills, Makeni, is intended to strengthen police mobility, improve rapid response, and facilitate effective patrols, particularly in hard-to-reach communities where motorbikes are essential for operational access.
Receiving the motorbikes on behalf of the Northeast Region, the Regional Police Commander, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Esther Mary Kaintor-Dukuray, expressed profound appreciation to IGP Sellu for his continued support to the region.
AIG Dukuray described the donation as “timely, strategic and a morale booster for officers on the ground.” She assured the Police Leadership that the motorbikes would be judiciously managed and deployed strictly for operational purposes, including patrols, rapid response and public safety initiatives.
“On behalf of the officers and men of the Northeast Region, I pledge that these motorbikes will be judiciously managed and deployed solely for operational demands. This support will undoubtedly strengthen our capacity to serve and protect the people,” AIG Dukuray stated.
