The family of Sierra Leonean journalist Glorious Aminata Bangura, popularly known as the “Gen-Z Reporter,” has announced arrangements for her funeral following her sudden passing.

According to the family, the funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Hotel 5/10 in the Low Cost area of Freetown.

A vigil will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the family home on Kallon Drive, Rokel, where relatives, colleagues, friends and sympathisers are expected to gather to mourn and honour the late journalist.

In a statement announcing the arrangements, the family described Glorious as a beloved sister whose sudden death has left a deep sense of pain and emptiness among those who knew and worked with her.

The family has called on relatives, colleagues, friends and members of the public to attend the funeral and join them in paying their final respects to the late journalist.

“Your sudden departure has left a pain and emptiness that words cannot explain,” the family said, while remembering Glorious as someone whose memory would remain with those she left behind.

As preparations continue for her final farewell, tributes are expected to continue from members of Sierra Leone’s journalism community and others who knew the late “Gen-Z Reporter.”
