The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has sealed Mineret Company Limited over outstanding tax liabilities of US$1 million, marking the start of a wider enforcement push against non-compliant businesses.

The September 1 action, carried out by the NRA’s Non-Tax Revenue Department, signals an intensified effort to improve taxpayer compliance and strengthen domestic revenue mobilisation.

According to the NRA, the enforcement action demonstrates its commitment to ensuring businesses operating in Sierra Leone meet their statutory tax obligations and settle outstanding liabilities.

The Authority has also announced plans to extend enforcement actions to 10 additional businesses and companies as part of its ongoing compliance drive, though it did not disclose their names or the specific amounts involved.

The NRA urged businesses and taxpayers with outstanding liabilities to settle their obligations promptly, warning that failure to comply could result in enforcement measures in line with relevant laws and regulations.
