RCBank’s Umaru .A. Shyllon Bags Chartered Banker Status
Aaron Parker Business Center Manager of Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBank) FSSST Branch, Umaru Abdulsalam Shyllon, has attained the Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ACIB) qualification, marking another milestone in his professional banking career.
Shyllon’s achievement was celebrated by the Senior and Junior Staff Association of Rokel Commercial Bank, which extended congratulations to him for successfully completing the professional qualification.
In a congratulatory message, the association described the achievement as a testament to Shyllon’s dedication, hard work and commitment to professional excellence, while wishing him greater success in his career journey.
The qualification comes as the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) inducted 2,178 new chartered banking professionals during its 2026 Stream II Chartered Banker Induction and Prize Awards Ceremony held in Lagos on Saturday.
The induction ceremony, held under the theme, “The Future-Ready Banker: Leadership, Innovation and Ethics in a Disruptive Global Economy,” focused on the changing demands of the banking and financial services industry.
President and Chairman of Council of CIBN, Dr Dele Alabi, urged the newly inducted professionals to uphold ethics, embrace innovation and continuously develop their skills as technology, artificial intelligence, economic changes and geopolitical developments continue to reshape the sector.
Alabi stressed that banking is fundamentally built on trust and integrity, noting that professional conduct and ethical standards are essential to maintaining confidence in the financial system.
He said the institute would continue reviewing its professional syllabus to ensure that bankers are equipped with relevant skills to respond to emerging developments in the industry.
The 2,178 inductees were admitted through five pathways, including the Standard Chartered Banker (ACIB) Route, Chartered Banker/MBA Route, Lagos Business School/Chartered Banker Route, MSc/Chartered Banker Route and Microfinance Certified Bankers (MCIB).
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of CIBN, Akin Morakinyo, also urged the new professionals to make trust and honesty central to their responsibilities as they take on greater roles within the financial sector.
For Shyllon, the attainment of the ACIB qualification adds to his professional development as a banking practitioner and reflects his continued pursuit of knowledge and excellence in the sector.
The Senior and Junior Staff Association of Rokel Commercial Bank has meanwhile reaffirmed its pride in Shyllon’s accomplishment and wished him continued growth and success in his banking career.
