Remains of Missing Moyamba Man Recovered From River
Amadu Moimo The remains of Anthony Massaquoi, aged about 67 and a resident of Brewah Compound in Taiama Town, Kori Chiefdom, Moyamba District, have been recovered from the Kessenie River following an alleged drowning incident reported on Sunday, 27 September 2026.
According to sources, Massaquoi reportedly left his residence on Sunday morning to go to his farm but failed to return home as expected.
Concern reportedly grew following his prolonged absence, prompting efforts by relatives and community members to locate him.
His remains were subsequently discovered in the Kessenie River and recovered from the water on the morning of Tuesday, 29 September 2026.
Sources further stated that the recovered remains were identified as those of Massaquoi and that they were recovered intact.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, while further details are expected as investigations and community inquiries continue.
