Kono Coaches Begin Four-Day ERFA E-Coaching Course in Koidu
Sahid Bangura Thirty-two grassroots football coaches from across Kono District have begun a four-day E-Coaching Course organised by the Technical Department of the Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) in Koidu City.
The training commenced on Thursday, September 24, 2026, with the aim of strengthening the coaching knowledge and technical skills of grassroots coaches in the district.
The course provides an entry-level pathway for coaches seeking to advance their professional qualifications. Upon completion, participants will be eligible to apply for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) D Diploma Coaching Course.
Addressing the participants, ERFA Technical Director Coach Fanday urged the coaches to remain disciplined, attentive and committed throughout the training.
The Vice Chairman of the Kono District Football Association, together with members of the district executive, also encouraged participants to take the course seriously and apply the knowledge gained to their coaching activities.
The training is being facilitated by Coach Fanday and Coach Mikael, with sessions covering both theoretical and practical aspects of football coaching.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts under the administration of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara to strengthen the technical capacity of coaches across the country, particularly at grassroots level.
Following the Kono training, similar E-Coaching sessions are expected to be organised in Kenema and Kailahun districts as part of efforts to expand coaching development opportunities across the Eastern Region.
