Guma Valley Restores Freetown Water Supply Following Pipeline Repairs
The Guma Valley Water Company (GVWC) has announced the restoration of pipe-borne water supply to Freetown following the completion of repairs to critical infrastructure.
According to a public notice issued by the company’s management on October 2, 2026, engineering teams repaired leaking concrete structures at the Mile 13 Treatment Plant, as well as an 18-inch transmission pipeline in Mile 13 Village.
Water distribution has since resumed across the capital. GVWC noted that supply will follow the established water rationing schedule for Fridays.
Management expressed appreciation to customers and the general public for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during the temporary interruption in service.
The utility provider reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply for residents across the Western Area.
