UNICEF, Saudi Arabia Discuss Fresh Support for Children and Youth in Sierra Leone
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Sierra Leone has held discussions with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sierra Leone, H.E. Saud Al-Musa’ed, on strengthening cooperation in support of children and young people in the country.
The meeting focused on shared priorities for children and young people and explored opportunities for deeper collaboration between UNICEF, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant Sierra Leonean institutions.
According to UNICEF Sierra Leone, the engagement also provided an opportunity to welcome Saudi Arabia’s strengthened diplomatic presence in Freetown and acknowledge the longstanding partnership between UNICEF and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The discussions further examined how enhanced cooperation could contribute to Sierra Leone’s human capital development agenda, with emphasis on achieving measurable results for children and young people.
UNICEF said it looks forward to continued dialogue with the Embassy of Saudi Arabia and relevant Saudi institutions to identify practical pathways for partnership in support of children and Sierra Leone’s broader national development priorities.
