East End Lions Completes New Artificial-Turf Home Ground Ahead of New Season
East End Lions Football Club has completed the construction of a new artificial-turf football pitch at the Trade Centre, marking a major investment in the club’s infrastructure and its preparations for the 2026/2027 football season.
The newly completed facility, developed under the leadership of Executive Chairman Ambassador Anthony Junior Navo, is now ready for use and is expected to serve as the home venue for the club, popularly known as the “Killers,” throughout the upcoming season.
The 2026/2027 football season is scheduled to begin on October 10, 2026, with East End Lions expected to use the new facility as its dedicated home ground.
The completion of the pitch represents a significant milestone for the club and forms part of efforts by its leadership to improve playing and training facilities for players while contributing to the development of football infrastructure in Sierra Leone.
The investment is also expected to provide East End Lions players with access to a dedicated and improved playing surface for training and competitive matches.
The development has received positive reactions from football supporters and members of the public, with several praising Ambassador Navo for completing the project and fulfilling his commitment to improving the club’s facilities.
Football commentator Salone Tok commended the Executive Chairman for delivering on his promise, describing the project as a major milestone for East End Lions.
Another supporter, Abdulai Kargbo, welcomed the development and praised Navo’s leadership, saying the project represents the realisation of a long-standing vision for the club.
Kushe Sierra Leone Football also commended the Executive Chairman for what it described as his vision, leadership and commitment to the development of East End Lions and football in Sierra Leone.
The new Trade Centre facility is expected to provide the club with a permanent home venue as it prepares for the new season and seeks to strengthen its competitive ambitions.
Beyond serving as a home ground, the project underscores the role of sustained investment by football clubs and administrators in improving sporting infrastructure and creating better conditions for players.
