Sierra Leone will host the 2026 African Public Procurement Network (APPN/RACOP) Conference in Lungi, bringing together procurement leaders and stakeholders from across Africa.

The National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) said the event will take place from 24 to 27 November 2026 at the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Center in Lungi.

The conference is expected to attract government officials, procurement regulators, private sector representatives, civil society groups, academics and development partners from across the continent.

Participants will discuss ways to improve public procurement systems, with a focus on transparency, accountability and efficiency. The use of digital tools, including electronic government procurement systems, will also be a key area of discussion.

Key topics include procurement reforms, innovation, professional training, open contracting, sustainable procurement and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The NPPA said the conference will serve as a platform for African countries to share experiences and solutions to common procurement challenges.

Public procurement remains a major part of government spending across Africa, with many countries continuing reforms aimed at improving efficiency and reducing corruption risks.

Sierra Leone is expected to showcase its own reforms, including the Salone Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system, which is designed to digitise procurement processes and improve transparency.

The three-day event will include panel discussions, technical sessions and networking opportunities for participants.

The African Public Procurement Network (APPN/RACOP) brings together procurement institutions across Africa to promote cooperation and improve procurement systems and public financial management.

NPPA officials said hosting the conference reflects Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening its procurement framework and aligning with international best practices.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to experience Sierra Leone’s hospitality and coastal attractions during their visit.
