A Zimbabwean travel content creator has praised Sierra Leone’s peaceful atmosphere, food, roads and interactions with police officers during his visit to the country.

The traveller, identified online as Joe1zim, also known as ZimBiker Joe1, is an adventurous motorcycle vlogger from Zimbabwe who rode from Harare to Sierra Leone and is currently travelling towards Monrovia, Liberia.

He made the remarks in a video shared by Myk Berewa, Director of Communications at State House.

In the footage, the traveller reflected on his experiences in the countries he visited during his journey, describing Sierra Leone as the most peaceful country he had encountered.

“The most peaceful country on my journey was Sierra Leone,” he said.

He also praised the country’s food and road network, saying, “Sierra Leone has good food and good roads.”

The travel creator further spoke positively about his encounters with members of the Sierra Leone Police, describing the officers he interacted with as receptive.

His comments highlight the experiences of international visitors travelling through Sierra Leone and come as the country continues efforts to strengthen its tourism sector and attract more visitors.

Sierra Leone is known for its beaches, cultural heritage, wildlife and natural attractions, with destinations such as Freetown, Tiwai Island, the Banana Islands, Outamba-Kilimi National Park, Bunce Island and Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary among the attractions promoted to visitors.

In February 2026, Sierra Leone also endorsed the International Code for the Protection of Tourists, a framework aimed at strengthening the protection and rights of travellers.

The country has continued to position tourism as an important part of its development efforts, with authorities and tourism stakeholders working to improve the visitor experience and promote Sierra Leone as a destination.

The traveller’s comments are based on his personal experience during his journey and do not constitute an independent assessment of safety across the country. Visitors are still advised to exercise appropriate caution and follow relevant travel guidance during their stay.
