WAIIS Secretariat Mobilizes Sierra Leone’s Diplomatic Missions for 2026 Investment Summit
The Secretariat of the West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS) is enlisting Sierra Leone’s diplomatic missions to attract investors, strengthen international partnerships and promote investment opportunities ahead of the 2026 summit.
Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, President Julius Maada Bio’s Special Envoy for WAIIS 2026, acknowledged Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mohamed Rahman Swaray for convening a virtual briefing with Sierra Leone’s ambassadors and diplomatic missions worldwide.
Yumkella also recognized Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce President Oluniyi Robbin-Coker for organizing a similar engagement with the Chamber’s Council.
According to Yumkella, the diplomatic missions are expected to support President Bio’s vision for the summit by identifying credible investors, financial institutions, private-sector executives, development partners and government stakeholders.
Their responsibilities will also include promoting Sierra Leone’s investment opportunities and facilitating high-level introductions to potential partners ahead of the event.
To support these efforts, the WAIIS Secretariat will provide the Chamber of Commerce and diplomatic missions with access to the summit’s website, investment Deal Rooms, investor briefs and promotional materials.
These resources are intended to help officials conduct targeted investor outreach, obtain expressions of interest and connect prospective investors with the Secretariat for follow-up discussions and participation in the summit.
The initiative seeks to attract investment capital, expertise and strategic partnerships to Sierra Leone while supporting regional economic integration and shared prosperity across West Africa.
