NatCA Sets November Deadline for SIM-NIN Integration
The National Communications Authority (NatCA) has reminded mobile subscribers in Sierra Leone to link their SIM cards to their National Identification Numbers (NINs) before the November 1, 2026 deadline to avoid deactivation.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, October 20, NatCA said it had directed mobile network operators and mobile money operators to deactivate or disconnect subscribers who fail to complete the SIM-NIN integration by the deadline.
The authority said the directive is intended to strengthen identity management, enhance national security and combat fraud.
NatCA urged subscribers to update their SIM registration details with their NINs as soon as possible to ensure their numbers remain active.
Subscribers can check their registration status by dialling *999# on all networks, according to the notice.
The authority warned that SIM cards that remain unlinked after November 1, 2026, risk being deactivated.
