Sierra Leone’s Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Hon. Umaru Napoleon Koroma Esq., has taken the country’s investment drive to India, urging Indian investors and international business leaders to explore opportunities in Sierra Leone and contribute to economic growth and job creation.

Koroma made the call on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, while delivering remarks as Chief Guest at the Closed Circle Private Investors Meet 2026, organised by Opesh Group at the Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

Addressing investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders at the two-day gathering, the Minister highlighted Sierra Leone’s potential as an investment destination, encouraging Indian businesses to consider expanding their operations into the country.

He identified mining, trade, agriculture and other areas of economic activity as sectors offering opportunities for investment and business expansion.

The Minister emphasised that increased investment could play an important role in creating employment, expanding commercial activities and improving livelihoods. He also expressed the government’s willingness to support constructive business engagements aimed at strengthening Sierra Leone’s economic prospects.

Koroma further underscored the importance of strengthening economic partnerships between Sierra Leone and India, noting that greater private-sector participation could help stimulate economic growth, create business opportunities and support sustainable development.

He welcomed Opesh Group’s initiative to connect investors with opportunities across international markets, including its stated ambition to expand its business network across more than 15 countries.

The Minister expressed hope that the engagement would encourage international investors to look beyond established markets and consider Sierra Leone as a potential destination for investment.

The Closed Circle Private Investors Meet 2026 brings together investors, entrepreneurs, business leaders and international delegates to explore commercial opportunities, investment prospects and strategic partnerships.

Koroma’s participation in the gathering forms part of efforts to promote Sierra Leone’s investment potential internationally, strengthen business-to-government and business-to-business engagement, and attract investments capable of supporting economic development and employment creation.
