Renowned Sierra Leonean model and pageant king Almon Sall has joined the global movement for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, using his platform to promote solidarity and encourage greater awareness of the disease.

In a post shared across his social media platforms, the internationally award-winning model unveiled a custom-designed suit featuring breast cancer awareness symbols, aimed at challenging stereotypes and encouraging early detection among women in Sierra Leone and beyond.

The outfit features a double-breasted suit decorated with pink ribbon graphics, paired with a soft pink shirt, tie and a pleated pink sleeve accent. The ensemble serves as a tribute to people affected by breast cancer.

“I am wearing more than a suit. I am wearing a message,” Sall said. “This pink ribbon is for every woman, every mother, sister, daughter, and every strong soul fighting breast cancer right now. For those who survived, for those still fighting, and for those we lost, you are not forgotten.”

Sall also called on men in Sierra Leone and around the world to support women affected by breast cancer and participate actively in awareness and advocacy efforts.

“As a man, I stand with you. Breast cancer is not just a women’s fight; it is our fight,” he stated. “To every family in Sierra Leone and around the world going through this, just know you are strong, you are beautiful, and you are not alone.”

Breast cancer remains a significant public health concern, particularly among women. Health professionals emphasise the importance of recognising potential symptoms, seeking medical advice and following appropriate screening recommendations to support early diagnosis.

“Early check saves lives. Please examine yourself, visit the hospital, talk to a doctor, encourage your loved ones to screen. Love your body enough to check it,” Sall urged. “We wear pink for hope. We wear pink for strength. We wear pink for life.”
