First Lady Fatima Bio Meets EBEMA Supporters in Freetown to Strengthen Grassroots Unity
First Lady Dr Fatima Maada Bio has met members of the EBEMA Movement in Constituency 112, Goderich, Freetown, in a gathering she described as an effort to strengthen grassroots solidarity and unity within the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
In a statement issued on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Bio said the gathering was not intended for campaign purposes but provided an opportunity to acknowledge what she described as the achievements of her husband, President Dr Julius Maada Bio, since the current administration assumed office.
She emphasised the importance of maintaining the President’s legacy, consolidating grassroots support and promoting continuity in governance as the country approaches the 2028 elections.
Bio also expressed confidence in the EBEMA Movement’s continued engagement with supporters, saying it would remain committed to strengthening unity within the SLPP.
The First Lady thanked residents of Goderich for their warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s ideals.
She concluded by calling for national unity, stating, “We are one people, one country.”
