ECSL Announces Date For Bye Election in Karene District
The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone has on Monday announced that Saturday 25 June 2022 as the date for the conduct of Local Council Bye-Election in ward 216, Karene District, North-west region.
The ECSL stated that they received a letter from the Chief Administrator of Kerene District Council on 15 March 2022, noting that the vacancy occurred as a result of long absence of Councilor Benjamin Roy Kargbo of Ward 216, Constituency 064, Sella Limba Chiefdom, Karene District.
ECSL further stated that nominations for the said Local Council Bye-election shall take place on Thursday 29 April to Friday 30 April 2022 at their district office in Karene.
In total, seven bye-elections including one Parliamentary and six Local Councils have been scheduled for Saturday 25 June, 2022.
