The Electoral commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) together with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has cancelled the Paramount Chief Election in Nieni Chiefdom that was held on 10th June, 2022.
ECSL made this revelation on a press release issued today, Thursday 28 July 2022.
The Electoral Commission and the Ministry of Local Government stated that the election is been cancelled due to destruction during the counting process which leaded to election violence.
They concluded by stating that a new date for conducting of the re-run of the said election will be announce soon.
