Detective Sergeant 8577 Kamara A. B. attached to the exhibit office at the Kissy Police Station on Friday 17th February 2023, tendered a mortar pestle before Magistrate Sahr Kekura in the ongoing murder case involving Ibrahim Sesay.
The accused (Ibrahim Sesay) was apprehended on 22nd November 2022 by a Detective Constable (DPC) 2144 Jalloh S. for murder contrary to Section 4 of the Offences Against the Persons Act of 1816.
The accused, according to the testifying witness, on 24 September 2022 at No. 61 Mayenkeneh Road, in Freetown allegedly murdered one Tejan Sesay.
Detective sergeant Kamara testified in Court that on October 2022, when he was on duty at the Kissy Police Station, Detective Police Constable (DPC)12144, Jalloh S of the said police station handed over to him a mortar pestle for safekeeping 126/22, noting that since then, the mortar pestle has been under his custody for Court records.

The accused was not legally represented but an opportunity was given to him to cross-examine the evidence. He told the Bench that he had no questions for the witness. The Police Prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Osman M Bangura told the Bench not to do any reexamination.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura refused the accused bail and remanded him at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road. The case was adjourned for next hearing on 23rd of February 2023.
