UN Commissioner for Human Rights Commends Sierra Leone for Adopting GEWE Bill

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk has applauded Sierra Leone for adopting the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) Bill.

He made this known at the 52^nd session of the Human Rights Council (HRC52) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Turk stressed that equal pay for women is a great move by the government of Sierra Leone and called on other better-resourced countries to follow suit.
