U.S. citizens residing in Sierra Leone are being reminded of their right to participate in upcoming elections back home through absentee voting. The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) has emphasised that Americans abroad can register and request ballots regardless of where they live.
The process begins with completing the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), which serves both as voter registration and an absentee ballot request. Officials advise submitting the FPCA annually to ensure ballots are delivered at least 45 days before Election Day.
FVAP has made the procedure straightforward through its official website, fvap.gov, where voters can access forms, deadlines, and state-specific instructions. Ballots can then be returned by mail, fax, or email, depending on individual state rules.
“Your vote counts from wherever you are,” FVAP stated, encouraging overseas citizens not to miss the opportunity to make their voices heard.
