The Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) has announced exciting scholarship opportunities for Sierra Leonean students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Russia for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This program, offered by the Russian Government, provides funding for qualified Sierra Leoneans to study in various fields, including:

Technical Vocation (TVET): Auto Electricity and Electronic System, Solar Engineering Technology, Industrial Welding Technology, Air Conditioning Technology, Veterinary Medicine

Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc): General Medicine, Architectural Design Technology, Veterinary Medicine

Master’s Degree (MSc): Crop Science, Networking and Telecommunication, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Biodiversity and Conservation, ICT in Data Science (Data Analysis and Analytics)

Doctorate (PhD): Chemical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, Data Science and Data Analysis, Petroleum Engineering, ICT in Cyber Security, Environmental Chemistry, Lab Equipment Maintenance

Eligibility Criteria:

Undergraduate applicants: Must be 23 years old or younger by the application deadline.

Master’s applicants: Must be 35 years old or younger by the deadline.

PhD applicants: Must be 40 years old or younger by the deadline.

Master’s applicants only: A 500-word study plan or research proposal is required.

Application Process:

Applications are to be submitted electronically through the MTHE website (https://www.mthe.gov.sl/) by May 28th, 2024. All necessary documents must be included with the completed application form.

Important Notes:

Scholarship recipients are responsible for purchasing their airfare.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

There is no application fee.
