As humanity works overtime to scrub off the scent of pandemic era which rampaged the entertainment industry and threatened a devastating resurgence, we’ve all witnessed a boom in outdoor activities globally and in Sierra Leone.

Entertainers and musicians are not left out of this and have doubled down to create soundtracks to support the wave and thanks to this, we’ve had a sonically hotter year, with the airwaves taken captive by banger tracks after banger tracks.

Last year 2021, Sierraloaded started the Hottest Artiste List, an undiluted run down of the Artistes that shaped, defined and led music among Sierra Leonean consumers throughout the year.

This list underscores the entertainers who scored the biggest hits, tours, mega moves on the local and international scene, the award winners, and in general, the people we’ve listened and danced to for the past 12 months

Be sure you are following Sierraloaded on all social media platforms so as not to miss out on this list.

Ceejay Mark – #18

2022 saw a revival of Ceejay Mark’s musical prowess after a long period of absence and this is enough to earn him a Hottest Artiste List debut on the 18th spot!

Born Hasan Daramy but stage named Ceejay Mark, He started his career as part of an underground RnB/hip hop group known as Word-Up-Society in 1997. He went on to become part of the paradise family in 1999, then Conscious Knowledge which consisted of fellow artist K-Man and Harold Bone.

He started his solo career in 2004 with Studio J Music with the release of Nor Pwel Me Way album which featured songs like ‘Care 4 You’, ‘Take You Place’. He followed the success of this with his second album titled ‘Wan Day Me Tem Go Kam’. He then became the Chairman of the All Stars for Peace movement during the 2007 elections in Sierra Leone, using his music as a weapon against violence in the country among other artists.

Coming into 2022, Ceejay Mark returned to the studio and blessed us with his instant hit ‘IF’ which has gained wide airplays online and locally in Sierra Leone. Ceejay then went on to deliver a quality video which displayed to us the true essence of R&B and Afrobeats.

Ceejay who holds the record of having regional and international collaborations like Azadus, X project, Puffy Tee and others was also the only Sierra Leonean entertainer to perform at the Big Brother Naija Season 7 after party in Lagos.

With his Epic album project on the way, one can expect the Mojo’s Entertainment Chief Executive Officer to further hit the airwaves with more blazing tunes in the not too distant future.
