Two brothers of Alhaji Amadu Bah aka LAJ, Ishmael Bah and Mohamed S Bah; and 10 others- Zulaika Jabbie, Abibatu Sesay, Isatu Cece Kabba, Isatu Kargbo, Bintu Bangura, Ibrahim Bangura, Sulaiman Shaw, Samuel Waba Samura, Ibrahim Koroma and Ibrahim Kabba made their first appearance on Monday 20th June 2022, before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on two count charges of disorderly behaviour contrary to Section 12 of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Section 12 (a) of Act No 15 of 1973, and riotous conduct contrary to Section 12 of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Section 12 (a) Act No.15 of 1973.

According to the particulars of offence on count 1, all accused persons on Wednesday 15th June 2022 at Operation Support Division Headquarters on King Harman Road, Freetown, did behave in a disorderly manner.

On count two at the same place and time all accused persons behaved in a riotous manner. When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons they pleaded not guilty.

A battery of lawyers represented the accused persons led by Lawyer A. Bah.

Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent of Police Hawa Bah, prosecution witness 1 Sergeant 87100 Ramatulai Mabinty Conteh Police attached to the OSD Headquarters King Harman Road, Freetown, in her testimony said she saw on Wednesday the 10 accused persons.

She recalled that on 15 June 2022, when the 1st and 2nd accused persons requested to see their brother in custody Alpha Amadu Bah aka LAJ, but she told them that she did not have any idea about his whereabouts, but they insisted to see their brother.

But as she was trying to stop them, they started throwing empty Mega Cola rubbers inside the compound and her boss ordered the arrest of the accused persons, while peaceful citizens and business people around the vicinity closed their shops and went home.

She said she later made a statement to the Police. After the testimony of the witness, she was cross examined by A. Bah Esq.

Prosecution witness number 2, Sub Inspector Charles Dixon Alieu attached to the OSD headquarters King Harman Road Freetown, in his testimony said he knew the first Prosecution Witness and he recognized all the accused persons in the dock.

He said on 15th June 2022 something transpired between himself and the accused persons. He furthered that he came to know the 1st accused person on his first visit when he requested to see his brother LAJ.

He said the accused persons had arrived at their office with four vehicles wherein the 6th 8th 9th 10th 11th and 12th accused persons were in the vehicle, requesting to see their brother by hook or crook.

He said their Commander, Assistant Commissioner Patrick Moseray, heard the noise and himself and AIG Francis Kowan came to calm them down. They later ordered the arrest of the accused persons and they took them into custody.

He later made a statement to the Police. He was cross examined by Lawyer A. Bah Magistrate Mark Ngegba refused them bail and sent them to the male and female Correctional center in Freetown.
