Alhaji Amadu Bah Alias LAJ, could not have wished for freedom at a better time than the day of his Birthday.

Despite his lawyer reminding Magistrate Kekura of his Birthday yesterday and requesting bail, he was sent back to prison after another witness and victim testifie
against him in the ongoing preliminary investigation into an allege robbery with Violence.
LAJ and his family members who were present in court shed tears as he was being taken back to prison . The mood of the court was cheerless.

The accused is facing four counts charges of robbery with Violence and assault

According to the police , the accused , Alhaji Amadu Bah on Sunday 12th June 2022at LEOCON Fuilling Station with the intent to rob, stole the sum of NLe 4,200 and assaulted a pump attendant at the Leonecon filling Station in Freetown.

Before the testimony of the Prosecution Witness, Magistrate Kekura ruled against defence counsel over the last argument between both parties regarding a mobile phone that the prosecution wanted to hand over to their Witness. Magistrate Kekura ruled against the defence and the said mobile phone had been handed over to the witness.

Led in evidence by lawyer Yusif Issac Sesay, third prosecution witness, Francess Wilson, a pump attendant at the LEONCO Filling Station in Freetown recalled the 12th June 2022 when she was on duty at the station and a black jeep made it way in the station.

Francess continued that she accused , together with his colle told her to she was not supposed to sit where she was seated. The Witness and victims said LAJ and his colleagues remarked that she and many other girls in Freetown are usually tired in the morning, for they would have worked as prostitute at night.

She added that LAJ and a certain Ishmael demanded for twenty seven litres of fuel. Francess told the court that she was about to pump the fuel when Ishmael remarked that ” baby da timberland boot u go kill am o.”

Francess disclosed that the accused was called upon by Ishmael to communicate what he had already told her (Francess). She revealed that when revealed that when the accused came down the vehicle , he referred to her as “fucking” civil Servant, odding that he requested for the nozzle to be removed from the vehicle.

” While I was doing that, the accused push me and took the sum of Le One million two hundred thousand (old) Leones.

The accused was coming close to me, when my colleague, Musa came to the scene. The accused and his colleagues threatened to set fire to the station. She mentioned that Musa who had been assaulted rushed to the Congo Cross Police Station where he made a report which was endor at the Lumley police station.

The said requ6 form was tendered as evidence in court. Defense counsel, Madieu Sesay applied that a Subpoena is served on the Medica Superintendent of the Male Correctional Center for him to tender the medical report of the accused in court, but the application was not granted .
Defense Cousel reminded Magistrate Kekura of the accused Birthday, urging him to release him on bail. However, Magistrate Kekura remanded LAJ, noting that the seriousness of the allega and he adjourned the matter to the 8th July 2022 for cross- examination
