Following the matter Between Cribs International and Jocob the Therapist the High court of sierra Leone has slammed an interim injunction restraining all parties the plaintif and Defendant from undertaking musical performance or entering into agreement to perform at events or otherwise exploit music and image regarding the subject matter.

This comes after the Therapist recently announced that he has ended his affiliation with cribs international,following a dispute between the artiste amd his record label, this prompt a respond from Cribs international on taking legal actions against the artiste who was said to have a contract with cribs international.

The injunction reads;

UPON READING the Notice of Motion dated 28 December 2022 and the Affidavits of Theophilus Sho-Cole sworn to in support of the said Motion on 28 December 2022 and 4 January 2023 together with the said exhibits attached thereto filed for and on behalf of the 1 Defendant/Applicant and UPON HEARING O. Jalloh esq.. together with Z. D. Kamara (Mrs.) and D. E. Taylor esq., together with J. Hanciles esq., of Counsel for the Plaintiff/Respondent IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AS FOLLOWS:

1. That this Honourable Court hereby grants an interim injunction restraining the Parties, the Plaintiff and Defendants, their agents, servants, privies, assignees, workmen and associates from in any way undertaking musical performances, or entering into agreements to perform at events or otherwise exploit music and image regarding the subject matter of these proceedings, from the use and exploitation of music and image, from copying, using or playing, displaying. disseminating, or distributing, advertising, promoting music and or being involved in engagements or work relating to entertainment or recording services, making sound recordings for any other person. firm or corporation, in any performing singing and songwriting for anyone other than the 1″ Defendant’s-recording and publishing company selling, distributing, broadcasting or exploiting, the song “NACK” or such other songs made by them, participating or otherwise being engaged in any musical or theatrical performances without the agreement and expressed consent of the 1″ Defendant for a period of 2 weeks from the date hereof, 9 January 2023 and ending on 23 January 2023.

2. An interim injunction is granted restraining the Parties herein whether by themselves, their servants, agents, privies, or howsoever otherwise from publishing, republishing or otherwise disseminating. causing the publications or republications of any material libeling. slandering either Party, disseminating, causing the publications or republications of any material which relates to TAKE NOTICE THAT IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS ORDER YOU GUILTY OF CONTEMPT OF COURT FOR WHICH YOU COULD BE SENT TO PRISON!!!

and/or which may affect or tends to negatively influences and/or affect the public’s view or perception of the Parties, or howsoever otherwise affecting the fair conduct of these proceedings, in any news or social media medium/platform, or by any means whatsoever for a period of 2 weeks effective of the date hereof, 9 January 2023 and ending on 23 January 2023.

3. That the Orders granted herein shall apply to all bloggers. 4. That the Order shall be posted online and all platforms where this issue has been taken.

5. That the Plaintiff is to file an affidavit in opposition and the Defendants are to file an affidavit exhibiting a draft defence to the Plaintiff’s claim.

6. That without prejudice out of Court settlement should be pursued by the Parties. 7. That the matter is adjourned to 6 February 2023 subject to this Court’s intervention on an earlier date if necessary.
