Sierra Leonean Hollywood actor, producer, and musician, Idris Elba was at the Voice of Salone event that took place last night in Freetown.

The event aimed at empowering, engaging, and creating platforms for Sierra Leoneans to thrive ranging from education, entertainment, fashion, tourism, entrepreneurship and more.

Idris Elba was recently named as Brand Ambassador for Sierra Leone’s Tourism.

According to Elba he in Sierra Leone to engage, empower and create by using a platform called Voices Of Salone.

He said the idea of him setting this up is to expand Sierra Leone’s entertainment and make sure we are heard in the world.

The actor also promised that from 2025 any movie he makes will be in Africa specifically Sierra Leone or Ghana.

A dialogue session moderated by AYV Phebean Swill was held to improve these areas and also for Sierra Leoneans to benefit from them.

Idris Elba, Madam Memunatu Pratt Minister of Tourism, Dr Moinina Sengeh, Cribs International CEO Sho Cole, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr Mayor of Freetown, and many more dignitaries were in attendance including some entertainers in Sierra Leone.
