God father of Sierra Leone music Jimmy Bangura stage name Jimmy B has in London bagged prestigious award with ZAFAA Global Award as Sierra Leone Lead Director/Producer.

Jimmy B is undoubtedly one of key contributors to the level the entertainment industry has reached in Sierra Leone. At the early days of music entertainment in the country, Jimmy Bangura founded the Paradise Records which housed many big celebrities and superstars in the country.

As hard work always pays, Jimmy B has over the years bagged awards for his achievements and contributions to society. In recognition of his immense extraordinary leadership passion and contribution to the entertainment industry and the country, Jimmy B on 12th November 2022 bagged Prestigious Visionary Award from the springs of Joy ministries in Sierra Leone.

For this year’s ZAFAA award, Jimmy B bagged Sierra Leone Lead Director/Producer amongst other worthy awardees in other categories.The ZAFAA Global Appreciation Awards 2022 took place on 19th November 2022 at the New Nollywood Entertainment Studios, Crown Commercial Center, 71-73 Nathan Way London SE28 0BQ.

Jimmy B, born Jimmy Bangura, is a Sierra Leonean musician, filmmaker, producer and entertainer. He has been called the “Godfather of Sierra Leone music”.

Jimmy B acted in the Eddie Murphy’s 1988′ romantic comedy Coming to America before moving to South Africa, setting up a music studio there and achieving success as a musician. After the end of the Sierra Leone Civil War in 2002, Jimmy B facilitated the release of several hip hop albums and compilations from Paradise Studio.

In 2014 Bangura privately funded Ebola 4 Go, a video educating people about ebola. He has presented The Jimmy B Show, a radio show on Freetown’s AiRadio which specializes in Sierra Leonean music.

On his Facebook page, Jimmy B posted after receiving the award and fully accepted it.

Last night in London, I was honored with the ZAFAA global award as a film Producer/Director from Serra Leone 🇸🇱 

With great humility I accepted the award and dedicated it to the Entertainment Industry and the beautiful people of the most beautiful country on planet earth, Sierra Leone.🇸🇱 

Regardless of Tribal, Regional or Political affiliation, we are all Sierra Leoneans and 

We each have a role to play in changing the narrative….we have but one Salone…
