Sensational Sierra Leonean Rapper, Amara Turay, popularly known as Kao Denero, has on Saturday, 3rd May, 2025 badged the African Golden Award with the title “Best Male HipPop/Rap Artist.”
The highly contested event, which was held today, at the Emara-Ole Sereni, in Nairobi, was not only hosted to showcase the outstanding achievements of the contested rappers, but also offers a night of unforgettable entertainment, elegance, and recognition.
Kao Denero’s landmark award came amidst a fierce battle for the title with fifteen rocky and renowned hip pop rappers from different countries across Africa.
Amongst his contenders were Phyno from Nigeria, Khaligraph Jones from Kenya, Musical Majur from South Africa, Manifest from Ghana, Sarkodie from Ghana, M.I Abaga from Nigeria, and Nasty C. from South Africa, Takadeniro from Sudan, Breeder LW from Kenya, John Frog from South Sudan, and Kontawa from South Sudan.
In badging the prestigious award, Kao Denero has now secured the title, “Africa’s Best Hip Pop Rapper,” an achievement which he had long for throughout his music career.
