The Sierra Leone chapter of Mister Africa International has in an official statement announced their withdrawal from this year’s Mister Africa International pageant.

According to the statement the decision to pull out of the pageant was due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. Miscommunication, lack of support and no means for Sierra Leonean passport holders to obtain a visa online or visa on arrival to Angola

Ex Housemate Augustine Bangura was supposed to represent Sierra Leone in this year’s Mister Africa International pageant in Angola.

The full statement reads;

MMSL International wishes the 10th Mister Africa International Pageant and all the delegates best of luck at this year’s competition. May the best candidate win. With a heavy heart we regret to announce that for the 1st time since 2017 Sierra Leone will not be able to participate in the 10th Edition of this pageant due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Miscommunication, lack of support and no means for Sierra Leonean passport holders to obtain a visa online or visa on arrival to Angola (another African country) led to our decision of not sending our Mister Africa International Sierra Leone for the competition this year. Augustine Bangura will remain our Mister Africa International Sierra Leone 2022/23 and we look forward to participating again in next year’s edition of Mister Africa International. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your unconditional love, unwavering support and best wishes.
