The management team of Sierra Leonean artist Salone Cool J has issued a statement addressing a recent incident at a public event in which the musician was involved in a physical confrontation.
According to a statement released by the “Office of Black Conscious Mvmt,” tensions escalated after Salone Cool J was allegedly “physically approached and attacked” during the event. The statement clarified that the artist “defended himself in the moment but did not initiate the altercation.”
The team emphasized that the incident does not reflect the values the artist has promoted throughout his career.
“Salone Cool J has always stood for positivity, respect, community empowerment, and using his platform to inspire others,” the statement read. “Violence, bullying, intimidation, and conflict are not values that represent who he is as an artist, humanitarian, or individual.”
The office highlighted the artist’s years of work in music, mentorship, and community outreach, noting his commitment to uplifting people, encouraging young people to pursue their dreams, and promoting unity rather than division.
It further stated that he does not condone fighting, bullying, harassment, or any form of violence.
Addressing the issue of self-defense, the statement noted:
“While no one ever hopes to find themselves in such a situation, everyone has the right to protect themselves when faced with a physical threat.”
Salone Cool J’s team said the artist remains committed to being a positive example and expressed hope that the incident would not overshadow the years of work he has dedicated to serving his community and inspiring others.
The statement concluded by thanking fans and supporters for their understanding and continued encouragement.
The exact date, venue, and circumstances surrounding the incident were not disclosed. As of press time, no official police report or video footage related to the matter had been made public.
